Urban Contemporary Remodel

This is a third project completed for this couple, whose parents are one of our 20 year clients.

We previously completed a master bathroom and closet renovation. The Bathroom featured a walnut vanity, a curb-less shower and a freestanding air tub. Then, we completed a living room and entry hall project, including the replacement of all balusters and railing, which continues across a catwalk, then, we refinished hardwoods, replaced stair carpet and repainted.

These pictures reflect the new Kitchen, bar, powder bathroom and the lower level kitchen.

We took this kitchen that had a wall that divided a nice sun room and removed the wall to create a much larger double island kitchen. They have a flare for contemporary and modern taste. The homeowners and their growing family were also in need of a mudroom as they entered from the garage. We were able to use all of the existing space to design for them, what they needed.

First, we renovated the lower level which included a new kitchen, a bedroom and a half bathroom as well as converting the old billiards room into a new mirrored workout space with rubber flooring. This allowed them to have a full kitchen to use in the lower level, while we worked our magic on the main level.

The demo began and then some tricky, structural work, including T-shaped steel beam layout to support the second floor. Our structural engineer has been doing our structural design for 15 years and has taught us some of the best methods and techniques to assure a forever structure.

The kitchen finishes included a mix of painted and stained, Euro cabinets, with the islands featuring horizontal stained, rift sawn oak and “Leathered” granite tops with a streak of earth tones to tie the colors together. All new oak flooring, cool blue walls, glass tile back splash and all new stainless steel appliances.
